It seems like just last week that we first met. The memory is so clear in my mind.
We have spent the better part of a decade learning and growing as individuals and as a couple.
In the first few years we compared our love to a flower growing out of a stone.
It was something that grew unexpectedly, almost as if it didn’t belong.
Now I see a different meaning.
A flower growing out of a stone is mesmerizing and beautiful. A rare gift.
It is nature’s perfect balance of strength and grace.
Over the years our flower has gone through different seasons, always growing more vibrant and strong.
Now we say that we have an entire garden of flowers that have blossomed in that unexpected pace.
The roots, our hearts, are intertwined into a solid rock foundation.
The flowers, our souls, will forever blossom and grow together.
As we go into this next phase of our journey, I vow to treat our marriage like our metaphorical flower garden.
I vow to always nourish it with love, joy and enthusiasm
To tend to it with patience and understanding
And to trim away negativity.
I promise to always see the beauty in what we have.
I vow to walk beside you as your wife, best friend, biggest fan, and strongest supporter.
I promise to love you through this life and the next.
