Each of us, in our own way is a rain drop, landing in the sea. We may not see our actions as having an effect, whether on ourselves or others, but they do.
You could smile at a co-worker and intentionally chose to interact with them in a kind, compassionate, loving manner. Or you could chose to not make eye contact, not acknowledge, or whatever it is you do. Both interactions could have rippling effects. One spreads love; the other spreads separation.
We also have the ripple effect in our minds. Will you wake up and smile at yourself, gently and compassionately accept yourself in whatever state this moment finds you in? Or, will you judge yourself, berate yourself, not acknowledge aspects of yourself? Both thought processes have a ripple effect in our mind, in our bodies, and in how we interact with those around us. Will you separate from your authentic self causing pain? Will you connect with yourself and feel love? The choice is always yours, what ripple effect will you cause today?
