Thoughts, our inner lyrics, are powerful. They act as the underlying force whispering our potential, our capabilities, our strengths or weaknesses, our dreams and fears.
The thoughts we have create our outer worlds and experiences. Through those thoughts, we look through lenses that reflect back what we think. These lenses validate our beliefs, painting the world with our own projections… giving us only what we think to look for, what we think we are worthy of, what we think is just how the world is.
Recognizing that our inner lyrics drive our actions, our relationships, and our lives is the moment when our inner musicians are being directed toward our music venues for the first show. It’s the moment when we can dive deep into those lyrics and question their place in our songs. It’s the moment to inquire how real they are, or how they make us feel or act, or where we want to go in life–and if those thoughts are helping or hindering.
All actions result from thoughts, so what are the lyrics you are singing to yourself today? Are you singing lyrics of inquiry and openness, or do you have an old track running?
