Letting go doesn’t always have to be a heavy experience, a deep parting with past wounds. Letting go starts at looking at the small things that don’t serve you any more, the clothes that no longer fit you from your youth, or letting go of words you use to talk to yourself like “I can’t” or “I’m stupid”.

Letting go is not about releasing all the negative experiences you’ve ever had and forgetting about them. Letting go is releasing your attachment to those experiences. Releasing your hold and attachment allows for fresh eyes to see a different way to interpret the story, one that looks at strengths versus flaws. Eyes that know there are things you cannot control within those experiences and when acknowledging that, they no longer weigh down your life… you have let them go.

Practice letting go with the small stuff. The tangible stuff… start with a spring cleaning of your house. Dust away and intend to notice; what small items can be re-gifted, donated, or moved about to give you more joy. @Thichnhathanh
