When our inner songs are no longer muted in the background, lyrics and melodies can clash together, leading to confusion and over stimulation. We wonder what beat to follow, what lyric to sing, and how the volume and pace can be adjusted so as to not overwhelm.

With all the inner stimulation and mixing of songs and rhythms, resetting the music may be needed. Reset the music to simple phrases, one liners that can be sung over and over. Whatever one liner you settle on, ensure as you sing it that you align your words with your actions…if you are singing that you are brave, what small action will you take every day to reinforce this? It can be as simple as meeting your eyes in the mirror and staring into them for 30 seconds, an act that may sound so easy yet can require such bravery.

When you align your lyrics with your actions, things become more simple, more tangible, and more possible. Simple tracks, such as doing the dishes or making your bed every day once you get up begin to build with momentum and power as you start to trust the tracks you are singing and the actions you are capable of doing.

When we are pulling apart our own soul songs from the interwoven songs we’ve taken on, don’t take on the intense symphonies that may be raging in the background. They will lose their volume and strength as you build your own soul song back up. When you create a relationship between you and your inner lyrics by following through with what you say you will do, one note at a time, one beat at a time, trust will be earned. @krystamaravilla
