Complete Two Tasks to Demonstrate Your Skills

• Task 1: Video Editing through Descript
  
• Task 2: Podcast Production

Objective: You will be provided with raw footage for a short YouTube video/TikTok. Your task is to edit this footage using Descript to create a final polished video ready for publication.

Notes:

• Access and features may be limited as you’ll be using the free version of Descript.
• Confirm that the video dimensions are appropriate for the platform (YouTube/TikTok).

Instructions:

1. Sign up for a FREE Descript account:
   • Register at https://www.descript.com/.
2. Review Raw Footage:
   • Download the provided raw footage.
3. Edit in Descript:
   • Open Descript and create a new project.
   • Import the raw footage.
   • Use Descript’s editing tools to cut unwanted sections, add transitions, and maintain consistent audio levels.
   • Include captions/subtitles for clarity.
4. Enhancements:
   • Optionally, add background music fitting the video’s tone.
   • Incorporate graphics, overlays, or effects for visual appeal.
   • Ensure the video’s pacing is engaging.
5. Review and Finalize:
   • Preview the edited video multiple times.
   • Make necessary adjustments for quality and accuracy.
6. Export and Submission:
   • Export the final video in MP4 format.
   • Upload the exported video along with a summary to the designated Google Drive folder.
   • File Name Format: LastName_FirstName_Video

PART 1 – Remove Filler Words and Segmenting Important Portions

1. Download the raw audio file.
2. Use Descript to edit the audio by:

• Open Descript and add the audio.
• Choose one part of the talk to work on.
• Take out filler words and pauses that aren’t needed.
• Make sure the talk flows well.
• Connect the parts smoothly.

PART 2 – Add Background Music to the Intro

1. Download the raw background music file.
2. Integrate the background music into the podcast’s intro section using Descript.
3. Adjust the volume levels to ensure a balanced mix between the narration and background music.
4. Ensure that the music complements the tone and theme of the podcast.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Provide the edited audio file for Part 1 in a compatible format (e.g., MP3 or WAV).
2. Submit the edited podcast with background music for Part 2 in a compatible format.
3. File Name for Part 1: LastName_FirstName_Name_Audio
4. File Name for Part 2: LastName_FirstName_Intro
