I am on a new adventure, remotely working from Austin TX for the summer, and was wandering around Central Market (a grocery store) getting acquainted with it. I was happy, I’d just had my first Thai Massage and was feeling overall content to slowly discover the store and its offerings.
I approached a man who was promoting salsa, and he commented to me (something to the effect of) your energy is so good it’s affecting me. I smiled and thanked him, not lingering to talk. Accepting the beautiful compliment as it was; lovely to hear that just my smiling presence has the effect to prompt a stranger to share the effect I had on him. That gave me an internal moment of gratitude; I always strive to have positive impacts with people in whatever capacity.
I continued to hunt down the gluten free aisle and, in this process, passed him a few times, as I am literally going up and down the aisles systemically. I find the gluten free aisle and it is opposite of him, so as I am pass by him to wander some more in search of more things I may treat myself with, he catches me.
A total stranger and the next thing we know we are talking about the things in our lives that have made us happy, changed our life perspectives and light us up with an inner joy. For me, I am elbow deep in these moments. For him, he found mindfulness practices that he utilizes to stay in the moment and not worry about the bigger life stresses he carries. Our connection, brief, was in deep conversation over the duality of love and fear (not hatred) and how this is seen within our lives and others.
Our conversation was loving, gently, playful, and beautiful. Speaking for myself, I walked away brighter and happier to have yet another amazing encounter with a beautiful, loving, soul. I am grateful. Victor, good luck with your search for the best Carnitas in TX.
